New Installation  Bottom

Hi all

I'm having installation problems.

I could not find any installation notes on the site, nor in the unpacked application directories, and the only requirements I found was on the download page, so I downloaded the Linux package, which requires Java 6. I installed Java with Adept Package Manager then set the home variable as such:

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.06/jre/bin/

My Module Studio bin is here:

/home/ivan/bin/modulestudio/modulestudio

When executing the application, I see a Module Studio installation splash screen with a blue progress bar, then that screen goes away and nothing else happens.

I am totally unfamiliar with Java, Eclipse and all that, so please explain anything technical. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It seems like version 0.4.9 has been compiled with OpenJDK instead of the Sun JRE accidently.
I suggest you to either try out 0.4.3 or wait a few weeks until the first version for Zikula arrives.

    Hi Axel

    Oops! icon_smile
I had OpenJDK 6 which I removed in order to put Sun's version in place. (I don't know why it didn't run successfully on OpenJDK, maybe my home var was wrong and I didn't think to check & set it until after I got Sun's version.)

Busy downloading OpenJDK 6 for version 0.4.9.

Module Studio 0.4.3 has just finished downloading, I've unpacked it and it's running fine.

    Thanks Axel icon_smile
